Safeguarding & Welfare

Our Commitment to Safety

Knightwood BMX club (KWBMX) are a volunteer-led organisation dedicated to promoting the safe participation in the sport of BMX racing in our local community and beyond. We encourage good behaviour and sporting respect from all riders, parents/carers and supporters at all times.

KWBMX follows and adheres to the guidance laid out by British Cycling on all welfare and safeguarding matters. We are actively engaged in the welfare and safeguarding of all our member families and riders.

Club Welfare Officers

Our Club Welfare Officers are the persons with primary responsibility for receiving, managing and reporting concerns arising about children or adults at risk. However, it's important to highlight that safeguarding is the responsibility of all members.

Reporting Concerns

If you have any concerns regarding the wellbeing or safety of any KWBMX club member or the conduct of any riders or parents/carers whilst representing KWBMX, you can:

  • Notify the club welfare officer in person at a club session or event
  • Speak to a coach during training sessions
  • Contact a committee member
  • Use our confidential reporting channels
